FUNNEL CAKES
Joe, Liz, and L.J.
Every WSHS student of German has brought home a copy of this recipe and all 3 copies hang on the refrigerator. The German Honors Society would make this for Spartan Fest. Other note: All 3 copies of this recipe have the word "Double" written on it, so you should apparently always double this recipe.
Beat the egg and the milk. Sift the salt, sugar, flour, and baking powder together. Add the eggs and milk. Beat until smooth (don't use a blender; use mixer or by hand).
Next, bring the mixture to Spartan Fest and ask the German students to make you a funnel cake...or put the mixture in a zip lock bag, cut a corner out of the bag, and squiggely pour it into a half inch of hot oil. cook, remove, top with powder sugar and/or strawberries or apples.
